Former Anchor to Appear in Reflective Interview

Dan Rather is set to make a brief return to CBS News on Sunday, April 28, 2024, in an interview with Lee Cowan on CBS Sunday Morning. This will be Rather's first appearance on CBS News since his controversial exit 18 years ago.
Rather, who spent 44 years covering world events for CBS News, left the network in 2005 after the "Rathergate" scandal, in which he reported on a story about President George W. Bush's military service that was later discredited.
Since then, Rather has continued to work as a journalist, hosting shows on HDNet and AXS TV. He has also written several books, including his memoir, "Rather Outspoken: My Life in the News."
It's not clear what Rather will discuss in his interview with Cowan, but it's likely that he'll reflect on his career at CBS News and his controversial exit.
