Nuggets Clinch Series With 114 106 Victory

Denver Nuggets Sweep Los Angeles Lakers, Advance to Second Round

Nuggets Clinch Series with 114-106 Victory

By Jack Harris, Staff Writer

The Denver Nuggets have completed a dominant sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs, securing a 114-106 victory in Game 3 on Saturday night.

Despite a valiant fourth-quarter rally by the Lakers, the Nuggets' smothering defense and balanced scoring proved too much to overcome. Denver's stars, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon, combined to lift the team to the win.

The Nuggets' victory marks their 11th consecutive win over the Lakers, a streak that dates back to the 2021 season. It is also the first time in franchise history that Denver has swept a playoff series in four games or less.

For the Lakers, the loss marks the end of a disappointing season filled with injuries and inconsistent play. LeBron James and Anthony Davis struggled to find their rhythm throughout the series, and the team's supporting cast failed to provide consistent support.

The Nuggets will now advance to the second round of the playoffs, where they will face the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies, who finished second in the Western Conference, defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round.
